Ildalia y Miguel Lanzo Directores del Ballet naturales
del pueblo de Loiza Puerto Rico. Nosotros al mudarnos para Orlando decidimos fundar un ballet aquí en Orlando la cual se fundo
en Mayo 1992. Ya que teníamos un ballet en Boston decidimos continuar con nuestra cultura aquí en Orlando y el propósito es
de enseñar la cultura a los niños y jóvenes de nuestra comunidad hispana, para que conozcan nuestra cultura y nuestra música
como la es la bomba y la plena.
Este cd,es un trbajo cultural de la familia Lanzo junto a los integrantes de El
Ballet Lanzo. El maestro Miguel Lanzo junto a su esposa Ildalia,hacen un trabajo cultural Distinto en esta grabación. Mezclando
la bomba,plena,y poesia negroide,siempre Pensando en la cultura para los ninos y la juventud. El ballet se compone de 14 Mimbros.
Ildalia and Miguel Lanzó Directors of the Ballet Folkloric de Bomba y Plena Lanzó: We are originally from Loiza, Puerto
Rico, we moved to Boston, Mass where we established a bomba y plena dance group and also worked within the community. In 1988
we moved to Orlando, Florida, were we came to establish Ballet Folkloric de Bomba y Plena Lanzó in May of 1992. Our main goal
was to teach others; primarily the younger generation about their Puerto Rican cultural. The Bomba is one of the principal
music of Puerto Rico, just like the sister islands of Cuba with their Caribe-Rumba, Haiti with their Tumba. Bomba is characterized
with the use of three drums and several dancers. Two of the three drums keep a steady rhythm while the middle drum changes
the rhythm according to the dancer in front of the middle drum (Buleador). This objection can also be described as a battle
between the dancer and the drummer. Our CD, which was released in 2003, is a selection of Traditional and Original, Bomba
Y Plena songs created by Ballet Lanzó. Ballet Lanzó is currently made up of 14 members
